StreetCred PR
Speaker Bio
Jason started his career in financial services as Joe Duran’s first hire at United Capital Financial Advisors, when it launched in 2005. He was offered a rare opportunity to lead the marketing function for the company, and was drawn early on to the thrill of public relations. Duran soon landed on the cover of FA Magazine, in 2007.

After receiving his MBA from UC Irvine, he experienced his first taste of PR agency life at Cognito, an international finance and tech focused firm. When Cognito decided to pivot away from the wealth management space, Jason decided to strike out on his own, with a handful of clients and the desire to build something special, launching his first agency, FiComm Partners, in 2012.

Six years later, after learning many lessons about business ownership the hard way, Jason sold his company to his ex-partner in 2018 and took a role at Integrated Partners, as Chief Communications Officer. For two years, Jason helped the company to refine and deliver a clear message to financial advisors via consistent and engaging media coverage.

Upon the expiration of his non-compete agreement with his former firm, Jason launched StreetCred PR in Sept of 2020, with Integrated as his first client and a determination to build the PR agency he had always envisioned.

In March of 2021, Jason’s good friend and renowned financial PR star Jimmy Moock, joined him as equity partner and PR Team Commanding Officer, bringing to fruition a dream they often talked about at various industry events when not debating whose media hits were more impressive. Spoiler alert: Jimmy’s always won.

Jason believes that the best PR practitioners take things personally, represent their clients with honor, integrity and professionalism at all times, and never rest on their laurels. The StreetCred team embodies this ethos and works tirelessly on behalf of our clients, week in and week out.

Among Jason’s non-PR related skills and interests are the ability to repair US Navy aircraft, an advanced understanding of fine wine, golfing poorly but happily, skiing fast and with above average skill, studying military history, and rooting for all NY sports teams – especially the Knicks, who have yet to win a Championship in his lifetime. He lives in LA with his wife Annie, his daughter Chloe and his son Thomas.
